With Spring just around the corner, we've been celebrating the artists among us. Last week we lost one of the Pensacola's finest senior artists, Gary Adamson.
Gary was born and raised in Springfield, MO. He was interested in art all of his life as he was constantly creating and sketching.
His work has been featured at the art museum in Springfield, MO, as well as various galleries in St. Louis, MO, Albuquerque, NM, and Eureka Springs, AR. In addition to painting and cartooning, he has also done sculpture pieces. Gary was also a proud member of the National Cartoonist’s Society.
He graduated from Drury College in Springfield, MO, and worked as a journalist at the Springfield News-Leader newspaper. He was the magazine editor for Falstaff Brewing Company and Optimist International, based in St. Louis, MO. It is a pleasure knowing that one of the finest artists in Pensacola was residing at Wesley Haven Villa.
