Wesley Place on Honeysuckle took advantage of this year’s National Skilled Nursing Care Week in May, themed “Radiant Memories – A Tribute to the Golden Age of Radio”. This theme was chosen by the American Health Care Association to “honor the stories and experiences that define skilled nursing care, and to embrace the spirit of nostalgia for the golden age of radio.”
Day one saw Wesley Place staff and residents celebrating the roaring 20s, featuring ‘Al Capone’ (aka Les Hogan, Executive Director) and his flappers. Day two we brought everyone back to the 50s, with 'The Fonz’ (aka Les) and his Pink Ladies. Residents enjoyed Coke floats courtesy of Southern Care Hospice, and watched the movie Grease. Day three we were feeling groovy for the 70s, and then on day four we rocked the 80. A Hawaiian Luau on Day five finished off the week-long festivities.
